Planning ahead
This two-year plan is for a combined HL/SL class. It will also work if you are lucky enough to teach your HL and SL students separately. Tomorrow I will provide a one-year plan for teaching SL students. Though the IB Diploma psychology is recommended as a two-year course, I know that some teachers have to fit it into one year!
The curriculum has now been updated to include the IA proposal at SL, and so I have updated the plan to reflect this.
Here are the updated syllabus teaching hours.

This equates to about 3 hours a week for SL over two years and around 4.5 – 5 hours for HL.
Many schools organise this as two double lessons for SL and three for HL. It depends how many weeks you have in your school year and how much time you want to allow for revision.
Although SL students are not directly assessed on research methodology, in order to answer questions fully, they will need knowledge of psychological research methods and be able to evaluate them in context and using the concepts. This is essential when conducting the class practicals.
Also, so long as all concepts are covered within the course, it is fine to just cover the three or four most appropriate ones within each context. The HL extensions comprise the role of culture, motivation and technology in shaping human behaviour, and data analysis and interpretation..
Here is the updated suggestion for your two-year psychology course.

These hours are somewhat higher than required, but I have included revision hours as well.
If you see any problems with my maths, or have any queries at all, please leave a comment. I hope this will help you plan. Remember, this will not be taught until August/September 2025.
